A day before Valentine’s Day, the good people at Barbican blessed me with a look at Lil.Miss.Lady, a new production by HighRise Entertainment, creatively led by Lady Lykez & Dominic Garfield.

Along with this post, I have a written review over at The 5th Element where you can read but here we’re going to get into the photos that I got during the performance.

So with that said, let’s get into the set!

The production is half-theatre half-music show which is great for someone like me. I can treat it like any other show I usually hit more or less.

Above is the kick-off with Aliaano El-Ali who plays supporting character DJ Rat and also acts as the defacto MC for the night, keeping the crowd going as scenes change. Very good way of keeping things going.

First stage transition above now and it’s my favourite out of the bunch. The wall behind them was a great set piece. A graffiti wall of legendary names from the worlds of UK Rap, Garage, Grime & more. Beautiful set design.

The movement was very dynamic. Because of the stage locations, you tended to move about as the audience. Even the actors walked among us for periods of time you see that above and you’ll also see it below…

The last mini-set are more selective photos of the backend of the show. The supporting stages combine in the middle to create the final setting where Lil.Miss.Lady comes of age.

And there you have it! That’s the set. Thank you Barbican once again, peep my review if you haven’t already. Till the next time…
