Full circle moment!

On this day two years ago, I went to Lafayette to cover my first show with a photo pass on my person. The headline artist, was the same one in this post.

I knew it was around the same time two years ago but it was whilst uploading the photos you're about to see that I realised that was also on the 21st May! Amazing coincidence!

We head back to Brixton's Freight where we just were a couple of weeks ago to cover Blue Lab Beats once again for a couple of performances by two talented women.

This time was much more social affair where I made a few new acquaintances, but for this post I'm covering just the musicians.

The first of which is an artist I'm catching at the perfect time: with only a few tracks out.

This is ALLYSN.

And before we get to the headline, I always like to give the band members some shine, so here’s a solid set of them.

We now finally get to the woman herself as I cover her for technically the third time, the other time as part of the Global Soul Showcase @ The Jazz Café the year before her show @ Lafayette.

This is IYAMAH. (In Colour.)

The colour photos for her set were a bit of a mission to sort out because of the copious amounts of red lighting that was used.

It’s typically the reason I move to monochrome and keep going until the lighting changes.

Or I just deal with it in shows like these. Anyways, here’s the aforementioned monochrome set!

It was a blast hearing her live again. As you can gather by the photos, she’s a very expressive artist. From her movement, to her vocals, facial expressions and even the fit. She’s one of my favourite independent artists doing it right now…
