I'll come right out and say that this might be the last recipe test I'll do for a while. Not that I've tried everything – that'll never happen – but because I think I have an idea of what I like and what I want to keep on my camera.
That was the original point of the exercise after all: To find seven recipes I mess with enough to put on my camera.
So let's jump into this FujiXWeekly recipe with an outing to Raven Row to experience "Per Ankh: The June Givanni Pan-African Cinema Archive".
Now, taking pictures of an exhibition isn't exactly fitting for a "recipe test", but I wanted to highlight how great this exhibition was.
Going to places like these continue to astound me in how little I know. The sheer amount of names thrown at me over the few hours I was there were numerous.
I watched two documentaries about the Angolan fight for independence and a Brazilian researcher documenting links between Afro-Brazilians and Africa. Just the fact they’re decades old and exist could be seen as a miracle.
I’ve long thought about – albeit pessimistically – the lack of collective effort when it comes to archiving and art preservation. But the fact one woman in June Givanni got the ball rolling for all of this is outstanding to think about.
Anyway, let’s get to the more applicable photos which includes a great angle that I saw whilst I was in Raven Row.
