It’s been a minute since I hit The Jazz Café but let’s be honest, the next visit will never be too far away for your boy. What can I say? They just keep booking banger artists!
You’re lucky I’m only hitting shows I have a pass for! If I paid for the other shows I would have posts for the next three months already locked in.
But with my personal challenge to only go to shows I have a pass for and simply not having the time/energy to hit London as consistently as I used to, we’re just keeping afloat over here.
With that said, this post covers the headline act in Yoni Mayraz – Keyboardist/Producer who is based in London these days – touring off of last year’s opus “Dybbuk Tse!” which I highly recommend you spin.
But first, we get to the support which was up & coming band Dime.
Then it was time for Mayraz and his band. Let’s start with Flute & Bass players: Ruta Sipola & Tom Driessler.
Next set is of drummer Zoé Pascal who I had the most fun shooting out of the bunch. Some of my favourite shots of the year are in here and I think the photos will exemplify why this was fun pretty well…
And now for Mayraz who was placed right in front of me, seated and killing it. This is why I love The Jazz Café, the intimacy. To watch his expressions as he performs his crafted works. Can’t get vibes like this at The O2.
For variety, I will also throw in special guest: Saxophonist (and absolute unit) Tenderlonious.
A very enjoyable night of music, very grateful to be present for it.
