The recipe so nice, I had to do it twice!
(Kind of)
My first recipe was Kodak Portra 160 and even though I moved on from it to try different recipes, I've held a soft spot for it since. So I thought, why not try to 400 version?
The only difference between the two in their origin is the ISO difference – but either way – the results are so unique.
This post will be split into two segments, with some commentary thrown in the mix.
D invited me to hit the park one day – but in typical D fashion – didn’t give me any details apart from that. Just a time.
I of course arrive on time and he of course doesn’t. Lucky for me, I had Gina and I had a recipe to test:
After walking around, losing my jacket and finding it again, D finally arrived an hour late.
And remember the lack of details? D texts me going “We’re at the swings”. In my mind I’m like "Why the hell are two grown men at the kid’s swings?
The answer was: D didn’t say who was coming.
From Left: Mazi & daughter Priya; Mary; D’s Uni friend Helmer & D.
This is the first time I've had Mazi on here, but Priya has already made an appearance back on the Fujichrome Sensia 100 post.
And also a more official appearance for Mary (who made a minor appearance in my "An Early Autumn Day Out" post) who – as I write this – is one month away from having a baby.
Also meeting Helmer for the first time; a very solid guy. The Wu-Tang baseball shirt is a major W.
I was encouraged to participate in shenanigans; which lead to Helmer & Mary taking some pics:
The day went along pretty solidly! I hit my forehead playing frisbee and clapped my elbow with Gina but apart from that, solid.
My pops invited me to a party he was attending to/helping out with, asking to bring my camera.
SAY LESS.
The setting is a great looking home up in Finchley, North London. It was actually my first time in Finchley and the furthest north I’ve been on the Northern Line.
As you can see by the cake above, it was technically a birthday party, but the birthday wishes went several directions so I honestly don’t know who it was originally for.
But hey, it was nice regardless of reason. As was the cake!
Love to everyone, I knew barely anyone there but I had great conversations. And something I didn’t glean until leaving: That was the first party in maybe ever that music wasn’t playing!
Anyways; I love this recipe and I’ll probably end up keeping it because it’s unique.
