So I finally got the opportunity to do something completely at night. Night photography is something that I still don't feel 100% comfortable with but when I get it right, it is an exhilarating feeling.
To mark the occasion, I went to the trusty people @ FujiXWeekly for a recipe that catered more to the night-time aesthetic.
CineStill – unlike most of the brands in the world of photography – is only just over a decade old! 800T is their main film, explained more via their website:
"CineStill 800T is the only film made for still photographers specifically designed for capturing beautiful color images in limited incandescent 'tungsten' light."
That "tungsten" light was just the vibe I was looking for and creates some very interesting photos, especially when it comes to blues and whites.
The event in question was "LuminoCity", based in my ends. Put simply, it was a series of light-based instillations scattered around town. I also took the opportunity of being in town – in the dark – to head to nearby murals that I've been wanting to look at.
I did this all with brother D, his sister Camille & her kids Ashton & Christian in tow. If you regularly peep my tings, you may remember them from my Fujichrome recipe test from last summer.
I’m just happy I got some photos I could use. Night Photography puts me on edge in some situations but I have genuine pride in these. There’s nothing like getting a crispy pic at night…
