It's time for one of those special posts!

"What kind of special?" I hear you ask?

This is the "I've done an interview with this artist recently and went to their album release show" kind of special!

In the same vein as Wolfgang Valbrun, we cover the latest #FriendOf5E in Kinzoogianna, UK Jazztronica vet who recently dropped a new album "The Clique of '86".

You can spin my nearly 90 minute-long interview here but now we'll get into the photos done at Ninety One Living Room where I also shot Blue Lab Beats a couple of years ago.

If I'm honest, it's a place that I'm not too into shooting at. The lighting sticks to a shade of red and too much red makes my photos look funny. I had to tone down the reds for the colour photos in this set, so it's not the true look of my recipe – still in testing – but it works for the photos.

There are three band members for this one so I'll introduce one-by-one and drop colour & monochrome mini-sets for each.

Dougal Taylor

Drums

We begin with Drummer Dougal Taylor (No relation.) who was in the middle of the stage and therefore got the majority of light. Apart from having to tone down brightness he was a good shot! And a pretty damn good Drummer to boot!

And onto his monochrome shots!

Tom Mason

Bass/Programming

Next is Bassist Tom Mason who I wanted to get equal shots between his Bass playing and his programming. I think I succeeded!

I’m starting to realise that I have more monochrome shots than colour but hey, better that all mono!

Speaking of mono…

Kinzoogianna

We come to the final member and the namesake for the post!

Kinzoogianna (Kintsugi + Anna) AKA Anna Stubbs is a multi-instrumentalist Jazz musician of high-quality with vocals to cap it all off!

It’s rare such a talent comes out of the same place I’ve lived all my life but here we are!

And to finish, Kinzoogianna in monochrome.

And that was the night! Thanks to Anna for the invite.

Very fortuitous for it to be a walk away from Fenchurch Street because on this day was the last day of a tube strike. If it was anywhere else I might have put some thought into longing it off.

But I didn’t! Was just unfortunate that I couldn’t stay too long after so I could catch a last train.

One day I’ll be at these things till the end and not have to worry about getting home…
