The duo are back in front of my lens as they rung in their new album “Blue Eclipse” with a couple nights at the Nintey-One Living Room in the heart of Brick Lane.
It’s a venue that I’ve walked past many times but never had a reason to hit. The name is convenient because when you walk in, you’re basically walking into a house that has been repurposed as a music venue.
It’s a nice and intimate venue, just how I like it.
Let’s jump in!
One time for Adam Moses – Co-Founder of Jazz Re:freshed – their story as servants to underrepresented Jazz musicians is nothing short of a miracle. Love to everyone over there.
Had to start with the main men themselves.
This is actually the 3rd time I've seen them live. Feel free to spin one of my early posts involving them here.
Back to the matter at hand. I actually had a tough time getting the shots I wanted. I didn't place myself well and I really wanted to get the rest of the band. I eventually got what I wanted, but it was lucky that NK-OK (Red & Blue shirt) debuted his mobile drum machine, otherwise I wouldn't have got them all!
Big up LOX, (Drums) Poppy Daniels, (Trumpet) Isobella Burnham, (Bass) Kaidi Akinnibi, (Saxophone) who recently appeared in my 50 Pack; (Spin here) they really made this BLB’s best set yet.
Also got some great vocalists coming through as the night went, including Daley & Natalie Lindi who both appear on the “Blue Eclipse” album. Farah Audhali – BLB’s first signee to their label – also makes an appearance.
Overall, it was a great night to see one of my favourite artists going right now, in a new space that isn’t the best when it comes to lighting but why let that get in the way of a good show?
