This was a special one for me personally.

STORY TIME!

I have been doing interviews with artists (and other people in other disciplines) since 2016. In the beginning, I did them via E-Mail chains, (don't miss that) then I started doing them via video and a majority of them have been through that medium.

But one that has always stood out for me in the early years was my 2nd ever interview, (which you can read here) with one of the subjects of this post: ECKOES.

Why did she stand out? Because it was the first interview I did in person. Whilst I was still transcribing in those days, it was great to do something I was very green at (still learning of course) in its purest form.

It's also because her music is unlike anything I typically listen to. Which doesn't translate to a Photography post, you're just going to have to spin for yourself.

But it wasn't just ECKOES for this show. Kicking off was an artist I went into 100% fresh on but was pleasant to see live:

Erika

With a band in tow, Erika kicked off the night with a solid set of lyrically emotional and sonically varied music, with some Japanese to boot!

One time for the location right quick: It was a little awkward to find but the spot was very intimate, the lighting was perfect for my camera and placed next to me was a mirror which ended up creating some of my favourite shots ever.

And shout out to the dancer that came through to perform in front of us. She’s featured in an upcoming Erika video.

We now get to the ECKOES part of the set in which I have to preface two things:

If you clicked the link to the interview in the beginning, you may have clocked that it was six years and one day between the interview dropping and this show. Poetic eh!

It also needs to be said that she makes all the garments for her shows by herself. Knowing that fact really elevates how much effort ECKOES puts in when it comes to her image.

The Goddess vibe was certainly achieved with this fit…

Congratulations ECKOES for inventing the colour white and blue lights.
