 A Weekend In Edinburgh

Taken Between: 25th – 28th September 2026

A special weekend from September caps off October.

Considering I frequent London a lot, I don’t actually travel a lot. I haven’t been out of the country in over 15 years. Travelling is something I like doing but have never prioritised it.

Which brings me to here, where I visit Scotland for the first time to visit my girlfriend Tish who is in Edinburgh studying for her Master’s degree!

It was a tight squeeze for her to get there since her Visa was taking long, but she pulled up on time and I made it a mission to be there for her first week to not only see her but to be of service in the aim of helping her settle down.

An assortment of photos abound! In the previous slideshow we got some breakfast in a local café and shopped in the city centre.

My first thoughts on Edinburgh as a city is that BOY does the elevation fluctuate! You’ll get a vibe of that soon. My second thought about the city was its beautiful architecture. The way they have kept the buildings and roads as old as they stand is amazing.

Whilst I love London, I’ve always lamented the amount of areas that change so dramatically and for the worse. It’s why I like the Hackney’s and Brixton’s and most of North London.

One of our highlights was the next few images where I put Tish in between some beautifully made wings and Half-Cut Coffee where Tish finally got the Blueberry Matcha she was hunting for since she arrived.

I have always wondered what the deal is with Scotland and the cones. I haven’t looked up the etymology but as a cultural thing I do find it amusing. I think people move them at night as well so every statue gets a chance.

It’s the next day for the upcoming slides and kudos to Scotland for the good weather all weekend. Really made my Summer Blue recipe shine

I didn’t take many photos overall because I wanted to be present but I knew that I didn’t want to leave without getting some shots of Tish. So I got these impromptu shots 10 minutes before my train was departing.

She saw me off in what was a fascinating weekend overall. On the same day this post publishes I will have had been there again for the Halloween weekend.

I type this the night before I leave for said visit. I’m not sure if I’ll take my camera again but if I do I might save my shots for a bumper set sometime next year.

I leave you with a couple of choice shots from my train back south.
