The 50 Pack

Part Four

Welcome back to Part Four of The 50 Pack: A five-part miniseries, picking out my 50 best/favourites from August '23 to February '24.

Shall we continue?

Loiter.

This dude was posted up here for a long time but I got the shot I wanted pretty quickly. I love a blurry foreground and something like this is a solid example of such.

Ryan in Green.

I say to all my friends that at some point in time, I will get a photo of them that’ll be worthy of being their profile picture.

I’m happy to say that the homie Ryan rated this one and so do I. Although he’s now hip to me getting to meeting spots early so I can hide and get a candid shot of them walking over to me or looking around.

Over The Crest.

On the same day I linked up with Ryan (and TT, shouts to TT.) we took a chill spot in a local park. Up until I was crafting my 50 Pack, I never saw much in this photo. But as I was looking, the framing really caught my eye.

The lush foliage in the background, the grass in the foreground covering the bottom third and the subjects just sitting to the right. I definitely want to seek out shots like this more often.

Patiently Waiting.

This was a very impromptu shot I caught whilst waiting for traffic in Brixton. This little girl in one of those school leavers hoodies just popped up in front of me and in Street Photography fashion, just took a couple shots, not knowing whether it was good or not.

Happy to report, I liked it. The side profile really does it for me.

Late Night Walk.

D and Mary make another appearance on The 50 Pack, chilling by the seafront and brother Nick yaps about something or another.

I mainly like this because it was the dead of night and because of a line of cars behind us, the lighting was just good enough. Something about getting a good night photo…

HURRY UP.

You know those friends… Those friends that you’re trying to leave with but somehow they manage to make leaving the biggest trek. I know homegirl on the right must’ve been tired, hungry or both because I know that look all too well.

Aside from that, I do like this photo with the two women on the foreground, the sky covering the rest of the frame. Solid framing by ya boy.

To finish, a mini set where we head off to Amersham Arms for a show featuring these two great artists: Future #FriendOf5E SANITY and current #FriendOf5E Lams.

These four hold similar weight for me, in that it's so evident how much they're enjoying themselves. The Black & White photos make me smile as it was in the midst of an end-of-show cypher so the laughs were evident as they threw bars around for 10-15 minutes.

The colour one of Lams just has this aura to it. When she squatted down – looking directly at this woman in front of her – I took several to capture the moment and this was my favourite out of them. It was just a boss moment.
