It's time for that rare moment where an Internet friend comes through and we link up for the first time in person.
It's a unique and very 21st Century feeling to see someone you've chatted to for years and get to spend the day. I truly relish it.
If you've frequented my journey here, you may remember TT who came through in 2022 and has come back a couple time since then. Well this time it's another American friend who actually was the catalyst for a few US-based friends I have now, including TT.
We'll meet her in a sec. She's running late for our rendezvous at Tower Hill. So you know what I'm gonna do in that situation…
After about half an hour and a little wild goose chase on the specific meeting location, I catch her below.
This is Tish. I call her T.
When I told T that we’ve known each other for nearly five years she was dumbfounded.
Memory for me has been a weird thing. Time stretches smoothly for me but it’s getting to the point where something that seems so recent was actually 10 years ago.
But then again, COVID was nearly five years ago and that seems long ago…
Anyways, we take a quick detour to Buckingham Palace so T can appease some family that NEEDED some tourism content from her.
After that detour, we head to Camden for some food and walking/talking as we experience the most British weather possible.
When the cloud covers, it was cold. When they dispersed, it was warm. Beautifully annoying, as it should be.
It was then to Shoreditch to put T onto an exhibition I saw a month or so before. On the way. Hail decided to fall! In September! British weather was on crack on this day.
We then took to Victoria Park via Liverpool Street. I told you in the All Points East post that I wanted to go back there, I wasn’t lying!
That staircase one is making my end of year book. Adore it.
Whilst this set is a more “quality > quantity” post, it was an enjoyable day nevertheless…
When it wasn’t hailing in September…
Hopefully this won’t be the first and last time we’ll see T on here!
I leave you with a banger whilst I was waiting for my train home.
