After a great Saturday outing in between, (Post coming soon.) we head back to Priory Park for Day 3 of Lazy Days Festival.
Unlike the more clubby nature of Friday and the Folk-y sounds of Saturday, Sunday is much more for the family & mature crowd with the headline act fitting the bill to a T.
The day starts earlier and ends earlier than Friday as well which cements what crowd is being catered to here. Either way, vibes were aplenty on this day and I came in ready to capture a beautiful day.
We begin at the Break Water Stage once again for a great talent in Simeon Hammond-Dallas.
And then we headed for The Common Stage for our first big act, one that I haven’t heard in years but when you have a voice like this man, it genuinely feels like meeting an old friend.
This is Tunde of The Lighthouse Family.
There was space between acts which gave me the opportunity to fulfil my obligation to capture the vibes which you'll see near the end.
But after that we hit Big Hop for an act that I've not only covered before but I have also interviewed before!
The Allergies come through!
You know those artists that have bangers that you’ve definitely heard of but never bothered to figure out who the artist is?
Well, next on The Common – of “Proud” & “Moving On Up” fame – is Heather Small!
Looking amazing @ 61 and she made that known in her half hour set.
And after that, it was only the headline act left! But before we get there, we must highlight the vibes and the people once more…
Highlights include:
People of all ages.
Good food.
A little call-back family from last year.
A very tall man.
& one of the finest Black women I ever seen.
But all good things must end and we end with some legendary music.
Lastly on The Common Stage and capping off the weekend is Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge.
But we’re not done yet! To finish, we have the dancers having their moment and even some of the crowd getting busy on the stage! Was a fun 15 minutes!
And then a wardrobe change whilst the backing singers had their moment. It was all very democratic and enjoyable throughout. Wonderful finish.
Thanks once again to the people @ Lazy Days for the opportunity once again. Who knows, maybe this will become a staple for me every year like Cross The Tracks & Notting Hill!
