Lazy Days Festival

'25 – Sunday

Date Taken: 27th July

Recipe Used:

We are back at Lazy Days Festival for their third and final day with more acts & activities for me to cover!

Let’s jump right in with a quick walkaround.

My first highlight came after 10 minutes, catching a Brazilian Drum group doing their thing! Big ups to Brazilarte.

We now head to the stage to capture some vibes before the first of three performances in this post.

The first performance for me on this day was veteran crooner Maverick Sabre. I honestly don’t listen to him that hard but it was an enjoyable set.

After that, I headed out the stage area to watch a performance by the Monkey Business Circus & a free lesson for kids.

Time for another walkaround before the next act!

The next performance was another artist I don’t spin but considering she’s an award-winning UK Soul artist, maybe I should! This is Mica Millar.

The crowd was notably lesser for her than Maverick Sabre which I think was a bit of a miss on the festival’s part.

And since I’m talking about misses on the festival’s part. The lack of clean water for people to refill bottles was insane to me as someone that goes to Cross The Tracks – technically a festival held during springtime – and can hit several refill stations whenever need be.

This festival had a tap – the ones used in household gardens for hoses – and that was seen as fine. I filled my bottle with that water and saw random shit in the water. Immediately dashed it. You can’t be a summertime festival and force people to pay over £2 for water. Criminal.

Anyways, back to the photos, another great highlight were these two women absolutely getting it before the final act.

The final act of the festival was a group I have been wanting to see for a long time. The one and only Soul II Soul.

Now, for the entire weekend, the festival & technical staff were on job and the schedule was solid for the most part.

Until the final show… Where Soul II Soul was supposed to do a 75 minute set with a full band, instead became a half hour DJ set with backing vocals.

So before we get there, we get to the hour of waiting where I decided to look out to the crowd and get some shots whilst I wait.

And now to finish, an abridged Soul II Soul.

And that – ladies & gentlemen – was Lazy Days Festival! (Albeit two of the three days.)

For an independent festival, I respect what the organisers did and using Priory Park for a great local festival. They really need to sort that water issue, as a festival in the summertime, you can’t provide dirty water like that. I’d rather it just wasn’t there.

But that aside, I consider it a success. Technical issues happen and it was unfortunate it was for the headline performance.

I appreciate the people behind Lazy Days for the opportunity for me to cover the festival. Let’s see if we can run it back next year!
