Best Of

October '24

Welcome to my Best Of October set! This month has been a mixed bag personally but the photos are far from mixed. Bangers, as far as the eye can see!

Let’s waste no time and jump into our first segment.

Full Circle

Last year, I went to Lafayette in Kings X to see Che Lingo, one of the most underrated MCs in the country. It was my first time going to Lafayette and it was soured by taking away my camera because I didn't have a pass…

The show was amazing, which pissed me off somewhat because Lafayette is a great place and the opportunities for shots were bountiful. (See my IYAMAH post for examples)

This felt like a full circle moment for me – even though this show in particular, located in STEREO @ Covent Garden was free – it was an opportunity to take photos of Che Lingo and at the end of the day that’s all I’m looking to do: take pictures of my favourite people and artists alike.

Shoutout to Jordan Mackampa who came on near the end.

A Couple Nights

& a Day…

There were a couple nights this month that I had my camera on me – for example hitting The Photographer's Gallery for the first time to get Eddie Otchere's book "Spirit Behind The Lens" and have a catch-up with #FriendOf5E Tee Max – and when you feel like cooking, you get the oil, put the burner on and get to it!

Waiting In Brixton

Out and about in London once more, this time kicking it in the wonderful and wacky Brixton. During this time of taking photos I gave a dude who just got out of jail £10 and then later on gave a homeless brudda half of my McDonald’s fries.

Go to Brixton any day and it’ll be an experience unique to you. For better or worse.

D, Mary & Dame Go To A Wedding.

And to finish, a bonus! (This was technically on Nov 1st.)

D asked me to come through and take pictures before the three of them left for his cousin’s wedding. I did just that and enjoyed the experience, so I thought why not throw this into the pot to finish on a nice note…

Oh yea… Here’s a little half-tree that refused to stay a stump.
