24Hrs

In Birmingham

Dates Taken: 4th-5th Nov

Birmingham

It’s an odd place on the face. Turn a corner and you feel like you’re in a different place.

I came to Birmingham to peep a show I was invited to by my friend Caroline. I would usually say "Why not London?" but she already copped and what's 24 hours in Birmingham?

So I took a train up and copped a little Ibis room down the road from the o2 Academy. Only, the show wasn't at the o2 Academy… It was at the o2 Institute… Which was on the other side of the city centre.

Now, you're expecting to see pictures from the show, right? I thought so too. Until I was told that o2 venues don't allow cameras unless you have a press pass! That's right, ladies & gentlemen. Smartphones = Fine. Interchangeable Lens Camera = Lock me up.

I'm half kidding, they literally put my camera in a vault and made me collect it afterwards.

So I was not happy to say the least. But I did do something I've always wanted to do: Do an impromptu photoshoot with a friend.

But that wasn’t all!

When you leave Birmingham New Street Station and do a right, you will witness some top-tier graffiti.

I went past all these amazing pieces of art on the way to my hotel, saying to myself “I’m getting all of these tomorrow.”

And boy did I:

RIP to this amazing Biggie art that was literally defaced in the 24 hours between me seeing it and taking it.

I was so disappointed to see the Biggie defaced. It wasn’t the day before, which just goes to show: When you see a shot, take the shot.

Because you never know if people will deface it 24 hours later…
