2 Days in London

Dates Taken: 8th-9th April 2022

When in Rome…

It's not everyday you have two friends from the US fly over to London. And with that occasion on the horizon, it was guaranteed to provide some fun photos.

But what was going to be a first in-person link between friends became a lot more for me personally.

Before linking, I was in Trafalgar Square and took a walk down towards Westminster. As is probably the case more days than not, there was a protest going down outside of Downing Street. This day, it was natives of Biafra, protesting the genocide of their people.

I encourage you to read up on it, as it's one of those stories that rarely gets a moment.

(Warning: Images of genocide appear on some photos below)

But after that…

I settled back into Trafalgar. Quick side story: There was something I read years ago about Instagram filters and what the ones you pick say about you. Now, I haven’t used IG filters in years, but I’ve taken one thing with me from that article. Monochrome is when people aren’t feeling it.

And boy was I not feeling it. The sun was beaming, there were tons of people in the Square. I just got a big fat dose of sensory overload. But I still wanted to take pictures so to the rescue came the Mono.

Okay I lied… One in colour.

Eventually…

I linked with the crew.

Over the two days we hit many places. Most notably, The Rum Kitchen in Soho after days of suggestions. (RK was mine. Highly recommend the Brixton version > The Soho version.)

Along the way, met some new people in Jashima’s (above) digital entrepreneurial circle, all ending in the crown jewel of Robert Glasper @ Hackney Church.

I wanted to get so much graffiti in Hackney but had to settle with this one. Next time…

I’m beginning to enjoy mirror shots of myself and then slapping a filthy grain on it…
