Recipes – Part 24

I bet you thought I was done with doing Monochrome Recipe Tests huh?

Well so did I but after I was done doing the Noir post, I realised that it was a bit too flat for my taste. I like a Monochrome with some shadow and Noir wasn't cutting the mustard on that front.

So I thought "why not go for another Ilford recipe?". And here we are. Another banger from FujiXWeekly culminates in a pretty fun set if I do say so myself!

We begin with a quick couple snaps I was taking in the house during a beautiful Summer day. One thing the FXW post mentioned was that it can be a little hard to get the correct exposure on any given photo.

I learned that very quickly once I begun crafting this set but I think I found a happy medium!

These came after a screening of “Monkey Man” I saw with pops in Stratford. I love how this recipe performs at night, the exposure issue during the day becomes an advantage when things are darker.

But we now get into the two more substantial days with this recipe…

Ryan is back for an appearance, late for our meetup after a screening he was watching. I can’t complain, waiting for him got me the photos above.

Lemons – Lemonade.

We then walk around London to catch some food and hit a free show that was going down near Tower Bridge: Barney Artist, doing his performance in two years.

Three Men

& A Baby

Helmer was visiting! So me, D, LD (Likkle Damian) & Helmer went to the woods for a walk.

One feature of the woods are these little brooks and swings to get over them.

Here’s a successful example:

And here is an example of it not going so well…

Yes that is Helmer going into the water not once but twice! The second of which resulted in the whole setup breaking, sending Helmer straight into the water ass first. I just about caught it fully!

So that was funny as hell of course. We then proceeded to walk a little bit more, doing what real men do when in the woods: Find top tier sticks.

As you can imagine, the walk was cut a little short due to Helmer’s wet clothes but I managed to catch some good shots as we were walking around and jumping over brooks.
