It was a stacked day in London for your boy. Whilst you will see the majority of the day in two future posts, the most significant part of the day was in the evening where I hit EartH Hackney for the 2nd time overall, 1st time as a photographer.

The first visit was for Little Simz' “GREY Area” tour but even then it was in the smaller room for club nights. This one was in the theatre section. It is probably the most nostalgic place I’ve been to so far. It’s really an “if you know, you know”. The seating is democratic barring the front rows, with a wide berth between audience & artist.

Lets just say I immediately put on my 75mm.

But whilst I got in the door, I was not provided with a pass to take photos so I tried to be sneaky as one can with a fat lens. The support act was Olympia Vitalis, one of the most impressive support acts I have seen in a long time.

And swiftly came Common Saints, led by Charlie J Perry.

In between sets I was moping because I couldn’t walk around like I wanted. As you can see with the Olympia set, variety whilst you’re sat down and a distance away isn’t on the menu which is a shame, her performance deserved better.

But early into the headline set, something happened. Perry invited people to come to the front! So I said to myself, why not start cooking like I want!

I proceeded to…

And now for the monochrome set which was a bit underwhelming compared to how I typically enjoy shooting in mono. But I got some stuff regardless.

Even though I didn’t get the access I was expecting, I appreciate the management for getting me into the door. And special shout to Holly who looked after my gear as I was shooting up front! Should’ve gotten a portrait to commemorate but I had a train to catch.

Until the next time…
